I have the same thing, but with a 002r. Do you happen to use XP? Seems it may be connected to that...

I'm getting the 'snap, crackle & pop' every now and then...

I posted a Sandra report and a plug list in another thread, ( http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread...=258330&page=2 ), but DTS hasn't responded yet...

I think I will remove my vault and Win7 drives, and reinstall my SIIG firewire card and try that.. If that doesn't work, I'm going back to 8.0.1.

FireFox 13 - I have a similar problem. Running DIGI 003 Rack on XP. Updated from LE 8.0 to 8.03 yesterday and experiencing white noise bursts at random across the tracks that are playing. Have immediately reverted back to 8.0 until futher info is available as to cause. Would be interested if anyone else has found out anything

OK, I removed the Win7 drive, and reinstalled the SIIG 1394, disabled the onboard (TI chipped) 1394, double checked BIOS, trashed prefs, etc...

It's still kind of hinky using VI's... so I dunno. I guess it's back to an earlier version, (8.0.1 for me). That seems to have helped others..

This issue reminds me so much of the problems I had when I first went to 8.0.. since then I have changed out EVERY bit of software, and with only one exception, changed out every piece of hardware.. The single exception is the 003 itself.

DTS, can a flakey firewire port on the 003r cause the audio clock errors to trip?

Thanks!

Do you have external USB drive attached and using media on them in the session? I had the same problem as you in HD 8.0.3 and copy-relinking files to internal drives solved the problem. I never had that kind of problem in previous versions of PT.

Nope, Internal drives only...

I even tried changing the buffer setting to 128 but it's the same..

I made an image of the drive just prior to upping to 8.0.3, I guess I'll go back to 8.0.1 and spend the day installing the things I've added since 8.0.3... Kind of a drag but better than not working.

I don't understand it though because it worked great for awhile... I'm still dubious about the 003 though.

Digi needs to hurry and release the 004 then I'll upgrade and be done with this unit.

Win XP
I7 920
3 Gigs of ram

Tried that a few times... tried lots of things actually...

I've submitted a ticket to support so we'll see.. I really don't want to have to go backwards again.

Seems like every problem I've had over the last year+ has been tied to the 003 in some way.. I really am begining to wonder about it...

DTS... if you're not going to release a 004 any time soon, how about working an upgrade path from the 003r to the 003 or even a 003+?
