Once you opened that you will see a screen with 9 Tabbed pages on top

Click on Editing Tab

Deselect "Double-click Selects Automation Breakpoints"

Yes - thx for letting us turn it off! Perfect.

I think I'll barely ever turn it on, but it's a nice option to have for some kinds of work... not sure why it's default; makes me think other folks work very differently from me!

Making a new feature default is normal, not only for Avid. It makes the features visible. Not giving the previous behaviour as an easy option might have been an oversight. Now the option exists, you learn about it, switch it, back to normal, you know more about what you can do than yesterday.
