The beautiful thing of the Hybrid engine is that you will only need AAX DSP plugs when you want low latency. So only buy AAX DSP for your tracking plugs.
I wish Avid did this 5 years ago.

I have been working in a "hybrid" mode for years. I use a Neve console for no latency tracking.

Just curious how many more years we are going to get out of the HDX cards?
The Texas Instrument DSP chips are of the 2006 era.

Anyway... happy mixing.

Does anyone know of any other developers for AAX DSP plugins that produce the old style simple looking interfaces? - Thanks
Look up several posts and you will find....

At Pro Tools Expert we have an AAX Plugin Database, that is fully searchable and you can filter for just AAX DSP plugins if you prefer.
You can search just for AAX DSP plugins.

Hope that saves you some time...

Here's a clue: You don't need it. Put the dollars towards the most screaming computer you can buy and run Ultimate with native plugs.

Humm given you can't possibly know what someone else "needs". objectively pretty much a non applicable post.

I need it - before I didnt have an HDX system and for me personally my workflow is right where it needs to be now that I have the benefits of both processing capabilities combined.

There are a lot of AAX DSP plugins available. I find the ones from Plugin Alliance to be really good, and their prices low. Today it's June 2022, and I just picked up their Masterdesk True Peak (it's new just now) for AAX DSP ($19). Metric Halo is also good, as is Sonnox. The Avid bundle is also surprisingly full of AAX DSP plugins for $50/year.

FYI - Empirical Labs has opened a public beta for owners of BIG FrEQ - which is now AAX DSP.
