THe CPU usage doesnt really show much. But i am getting new cpu errors. Im getting closer and closer to just starting from scratch. Pain in the ass but it all worked so well up until the windows update.

Be sure you backup your current system drive before you do this.

After installing and updating... Install only Pro tools and see if this fixes things before you go too deep in the weeds.

Can anyone here tell me which version of PT works with windows 10 and can I get it from avid?

That would be 12.5 up to current for supported versions.

Windows 10.0.19042 is the exact build or the version I have. Just want to make sure Im buying the right thing. Thank you all for your help.

I saw that, Thank you. So what is the difference between the version number 12.5 and the Pro Tools 2021.12 release number???

Avid switched from using a release number, such as PT 10, 11, 12, 12.5, … to using the year and month as the version number. 12.5 was the first to support Windows 10 and was before the new versioning scheme. 12.5 is over 20 versions old, so there have been many changes since then. Here is a link to the Operating System Compatibility Chart which will give you a better idea of what I’m talking about.
