Default HD9 crush on start up connectiong to DSI

New install PT9 HD1 on Windows 7 64 bit. When PT start is will crush when getting to connection to DSI. Digi test also will not start.

Tried re-installing, did not help.

Anything I can do?

Hardware is 2x Lynx Aurora 16 with HD card.

I'm starting to wonder if PT9 is a complete disaster.
I don't think I've seen so many complaints about previous versions.
Well,,,,,,now that I think of it, it wasn't pretty when 8.0 came out.

Coming from Mac G5 PT8 to Win7/64 I must say my Pro Tools9 experience has been great, some hardware problems getting a new system to work, but after that, the program has served me well.

I would do some optimizations suggested in this thread:

http://duc.avid.com/showpost.php?p=1712789&postcount=5

and I would go thru what Avid suggests you should do:

http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=349411

And if that does not help, I would start to look for hardware issues, I had a bad motherboard and then bad memory, one can have sometimes a really bad luck I guess.

Looking at your Sandra the first thing I would do is dump the Nvidia and get an ATI.

Generally they seem to cause fewer -if any- problems than NVidia.

Word.

Since AMD bought them, they've stepped up in a big way.

NVidia has been in a lot of heat lately, and definitely have shipped some problem chipsets. I know first hand.
