Default unable to select "find all candidates" in relinking window...

got a relinking weird issues I ran into today, I opened up a session and PT said 3 audio files are missing:

cat.wav
dog.L.wav
dog.R.wav

selected cat, selected "find all candidate" and it found the file and relink just fine, but when I tried to select dog.L.wav, it selected both dog.L.wav and dog.R.wav and "find all candidate" option is grayed out. I then tried the force relinking through dragging from workspace and PT pops up a message saying 1 file at a time only.

how do I get around this so I can select just dog.L.wav?
