Default prevent pro tools from creating new midi file on every move

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to prevent pro tools from creating a new midi file on every move. For example when I just touch a velocity marker to see the value a new file gets added to the play-list, on large sessions this becomes a mess. (cello-stac.01 becomes cello-stac.02 and so on)

The same goes when copying & pasting modulation data to expression etc.

I would like to prevent that and get the data written or added to the same track/file.

Thx

Just wondering if "Display events as real-time properties" is enabled in MIDI preferences or on the track?

Not sure if that's the reason but if it's enabled see if deselecting changes the behavior.
Since it seems the clip additions are happening in "real-time" with each move.

Removing the program change parameter did the trick, unless I really need this parameter I just use the undo history to remove the "Grab Midi Velocity" and then do the automation moves I working on. (mostly orchestral programming)

Cheers
