Default Monitors options

Well after many years of just enduring it with headphones i finally have the urge and the cash to spend some money on some decent studio monitors.
I have about 500-800AUD to spend roughly and i would like to get the best that can be bought with this kind of money. I do realize that its all subjective but since i have rarely heard good monitors yet i am keen to get suggestions.

I have a home/project studio which i am working on some Ep/album projects from.

I have looked on ebay for options, So far i have found these

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/KRK-ROKIT-6-G...item5adf5c0a4f
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2x-Mackie-MR-...item5adf5b8308
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-x-KRK-Rokit...item19c42537ac
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-x-New-Macki...item5adf5b83d6

Which of these would you suggest? or are there better options available for that price range in australia?
Apologies if this has been covered before, I did look through previous threads but they only added more options i could not afford.

Thanks for the help in advance,
Luke

I lean toward the Rokit 6 G2's. Later on, after you do some acoustic treatments and add some bass traps(not foam stuck in the corners). Then you can add a sub for low extension(without treatments and traps, adding a sub can make things worse).

Thanks for the reply!
Why do you lean towards the rokits as opposed to the others?

Also a friend suggested these as an option http://www.lamba.com.au/yamaha-hs80m.html

Also once i get to the room treatment what do you suggest to use for the corners (i am renting but my landlord i very flexible as long as damage is not done)
Thanks for the help!

Luke

Nothing more than my gut feeling and some experience with both brand(but not those models). Any or all may work fine, and any or all could sound terrible in your room(acoustics and placement can make or break any speaker). As for room treatment, some depends on how much space you have. Rolls of fiberglass, stacked up in the corners can work well, but it takes some space and you would want to hang some fabric or curtain to cover the ugliness. Realtraps(or home made versions0 can straddle the corners with nothing more than a picture hook or two to hold them in place. Google for real traps, Ethan Whiner and John Slayer for lots of info(delivered way better than I could ever do).

Well i found a shop where i could listen to them, The rokits seemed to have alot of high end splash but the Mr5's seemed to be far more balanced and for them being less than quarter the price, even comparable to the dynaudio's. the rokits also seemed to have less controlled lower end to my ears.

So i am leaning towards the Mr5s, I listened to the yamahas and they seemed to be really harsh...which im told is on purpose.

Im going back in tomorrow with some of my current mixes to try on them. Thanks for the help! will try the rokits again.
