Export to compressed (MP3) button is greyed out

I'm using Protoools LE and want to export the PTF file to an MP3. The export option lets me convert to a WAV file but the Compressed (MP3) button is greyed out. What do I need to do to export to MP3?

MP3 is optionnal on PTLE. You have to get Music Production Tool Kit (MPTK) to "unlock" it.
I guess it's to get some intermediate bounces.
You can export in WAV then convert it in a third party software like iTunes, Wavelab....I guess I wouldn't have enough place to list all the MP3 Converters available for free on the web!
Eye on the watch, it will take you less than one minute (for a standard song).
Workflow:
-Third party software shortcut on your Desktop
-Export your wav file on the desktop aswell
-Open your Converter, Drag and Drop
-Set a destination
-Processing
-....That's it

No offence it's not a mini tutorial telling you how to convert a WAV to MP3 I'm sure you know how to do it very well.It's just my workflow saving me some time...so I share it!

You can buy the MP3 Option at the Avid stopre for about $20 US no need for the MPTK2.

Right, the MPTK kit isn't the only way to get MP3 within protools. Just buy the MP3 option. Worth the 20 bucks easily.

Right. Remember, you have to PAY for the ability in ProTools to do what most other apps do as part of their ONLY cost. Keep track of it all then come back and tell me about how much of a "deal" it really is.

It appears that "industry standard" means paying a LOT for what everybody else offers for much less.
