Then I explain about drum samples and loops etc. I make the very logical point (I think) that just because the drums were recorded elsewhere by some other drummer doesn't mean they aren't "real" drums. I mean, what difference does it make WHERE they were recorded, or even if all the drum sounds were recorded at once?

Her response is that unless its a "live" drummer it isn't "real" drums! And on we go...
I also hate drum machines. My Roland kit is played by real live drummers (and I can choose to NOT edit their performance if its good). I never edit for the sake of editing, just to fix little "problems" that otherwise might require a re-take. The sounds I use are also "real live" drum sounds. The loops in ezdrummer were all played by real drummers too. Food for thought

Right...that's my point! The same is true for all the other loops and samples I have on hand here...all are played by real drummers.

I use a combination of midi and recording.

First, I will record the drums, re-recording over bits that get messed up badly until I can make a good take out of them.

Second, I use tab to transient and identify beat on the kick and the snares so that the grid lines up PERFECTLY with these hits. Only do the quarter notes as to keep the feel and swing, then use elastic audio on anything that is blatantly out.

Third, because I have used identify beat to put the grid markers on the hits (not the hits on the grid markers, that is important) I then know that I can then use my battery 3 midi drums and underlay things like the kick and the snare to beef them up and sound better.

Without anybody ever knowing

Well i think in this case i had all 3....probably not the best of each. But all the elements were good :) Just needing some minor editing it would seem.

Currently 125.00 plus the 25.00 iLok transfer fee for the expansion asset.

Or...the whole MPTK 2 via USA shipping or emailed activation code for 289.00.

Trust eJay with all your iLok asset needs

I actually just finished up some drums for a track I was working on. I live in a condo so recording a live kit is out of the question. I use Addictive Drums because I found it the easiest to work with and the best sounding out of the box (SD 2.0 is great but requires more tweaking to sound good).

After mixing all the drums, you couldn't tell the difference between the fake drums and a real kit.
