I did make a copy on the int of my Mini. That works.

I will try to copy back to the LAN'd drive.
Just weird that I can't open any session from externals without copying to int.

In theory, if there was a flag on a file allocation table, I assume that would be a hidden file and/or folder on the boot drive, not the external?
Or would there be on both drives?

looked for hidden files and/or folders on both the boot and the external.
nothing that stands out.

I haven't worked with network OS technology for two decades so my knowledge is out of date. It used to be that the file allocation table (or equivalent) was kept on the same partition as the files (not necessarily the boot drive). Another thing you might want to look as is if the LAN drive is partitioned/formatted with a compatible format type (some formats are APFS, Mac OS Extended (Journaled), exFAT, Fat32, NTFS, etc). Protools specifies which ones are recommended, but I don't have that in front of me at the moment.

haven't been able to find a partition compatibility map, but the files have been working. So I think PT didn't like whatever unexpected quit or close happened and is now being miss bossy pants.

Apparently there’s a temp file written for this;
Check out the section; Prevents Others From Overwriting Session

Do you have Preferences > Collaboration > Prevent Others From Overwriting Session
Selected? (Turned on)
If yes... what happens when you turn it off?
