Am happy to report that 2021.6 is happily running on my 2009 4,1 cheesegrater that was flashed to 5,1 2.94ghz, 64GB RAM, HDX, OS 10.13.6

Love the fact you can tweak the classic UI with the same controls as dark UI.

Along those lines what I found interesting is that when I drug over the modified dark mode file I created and am using in PT 2021.3.1 there were some color changes (not as strong but still apparent) in the classic gui. For instance I have the title bar background colors set to a greenish color in dark mode and in classic I'm seeing a pale green for them (and this is without making changes via the new abilities we have in 2021.6).

I had no issues running 2021.3 on my 2010 cheese-grater with 10.13.6 other than the common bugs.
However, 2021.6 has been giving me all sorts of issues with the video engine. In addition, I tried opening a session I just created by doing a "Save Copy In" and the long restoring video files bug was present and after it taking 5 minutes to open, Poof! the session closed on it's own. Tried it again just to verify and it happened again, automatically closes after it finishes opening.

Reverting back to 2021.3!!!

According to the compatibility grid, Protools 2021.6 requires at least MacOS 10.14.6.

Requires is one thing but what it can and will run on is another. Avid only 'certifies' capability when a system runs apps with no problems. Problem is Avid includes their entire catalog when it does compatibility testing (or at least they used to do that). So PT could run fine but Media Composer maybe not or vice versa.

Agreed. Nevertheless it is not certified according to the compatibility grid. Hence issues may happen.

Gave it a try this evening and it worked quite well.
Better CPU performance compared to 21.3.1 but still not as 'snappy' as 2019.10.
I went back to 2019.10 but will certainly test with some real work as soon as my current project is finished.
I haven't had any video engine issues while testing yet.

WOW!

I'm on a 5,1 cMP and was holding out. Mixing a whole run of TV for the rest of the year.

So not only is it stable but you guys are saying it actually working better?

and no video engine issues?

This is what I'd like to know as well. I'm mixing a 5.1 feature and yes I could REALLY REALLY use the extra tracks (I was excited a few years ago when HDN got an extra 128 voices going from 256 to 384) but with a massive amount of DIA, ADR, Foley, BG's, separate MX instrument stems, SFX, etc, I could really use more than the 384 and of course all the nice new features all of the 2021 releases. Those of you on HS and now 2021.6 are you fully using the PT for intense 5.1 mixes?

5.1, me too. Everytime I pull in an AAF a heap of tracks get disabled
