iLok - Green Light, will not sync.

One of my iloks stopped working today. It has a green light, System Profiler shows 'iLok' Version 0.10 connected. But i can not start my system, or sync it with ilok.com. My LE ilok works fine. So I assume the ilok is dead. Any hope at fixing it without sending it in?

Running the latest drivers, and checked on my laptop also.

I have ZDT, but it is really sucks to think I have to buy a new ilok, when it is obviously a failed peice of hardware. I had it installed INSIDE my G5, so it was untouched, and safe as could be. So I will pay $40 for a new one, and $30 to get new ZDT. This is a joke.

Digidesign, I am really dissappointed in this method of copy protection, Zero Down Time my ass, I have had to cancel my session for the day, and will be making up for it during hours I would sleep, in order to meet my deadline for this monday. We need a better way to authorize. I dont want to deal with this every 10 months(thats the age of this ilok)

So I can just buy a new one for $40, but since its under warranty, to use the warranty, I have to pay $30 to get the 'free' replacement!! This is the worst service. What a joke.

Sorry to hear about your ilok! that's a real pain in the arse when somethings fails like that!

With ZDT you should keep a spare ilok ready to go, so Ilok can transfer the temp auths immediately!

I have 1 ilok for my waves, covered by their TLC
1 ilok for everything else covered by ZDT
1 ilok spare with old demo auths and ready to go if my main ilok fails.

Hope you get up and running ASAP

Well, if it could be saved, its too late to try. I submitted the RMA, and I will ship it out Monday. I am using my LE system iLok for the demo plugins.

With all these demo plugins I have to select 'continue' for use each plugin in the session. This is really annoying, not to mention embarrassing in front of clients... looks like pretty amateur.

I guess I should be glad that it is still within warranty. Or I would really feel taxed right now. It is ridiculous that I need to pay ZDT every year on two iloks, and they dont replace the ilok for free, and shipping is 2/3 the cost of the part... and it weighs less then an ounce.
