no waveform appearing

When I record from Reason (as a plug-in, the full version) I see no waveform appear in PT. Why is this?

Are you bussing it to an Audio Track? Inserts across Audio Tracks are after the record buffer.

Yes, I am bussing it to an audio track. What I am trying to do is lay down drums using Reason, then record basslines from my guitar over them in PT. I have programmed a sequence in Reason, then I open it as an insert, and when I put it in record mode and press play, it seems like it lays it down but I see nothing appear in PT.

If you are trying to capture the actual audio out from reason as a waveform in PT, you have to put Reason on an Aux and bus to a rec enabled Audio track.
But unless you're going to modify the resulting audio file in some way, it is not necessary. That's really the whole point of it.
