Default Export Midi

Hi Folks,
I have a problem when exporting midi files. If I open a midi file that was created and exported from Protools into any program (including a different Protools session using the Import Midi function)the midi file has been changed ,like note durations for example. Some are cut short and some are stretched out. This also happens when I export one midi track so I know that it is not other midi channels that are somehow getting merged.Has anyone else had this problem.
I have tried exporting Standard Midi File Type 0 and Type 1 even though that should not be the problem.
Thanx in Advance,
Scott

I did a search on this problem and it was supposed to be fixed in 5.1 but I still have it.
I'm running 5.1 on Windows 98
