Someone please help me!
Whoever helps me resolve my situation, I'll produce one hot instrumental at no charge. My gift to you :)
Computer: Dell Windows XP Professional Hardware: M-Audio Profire 610 Software: Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0 Problem: Cant launch Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0 setup. I receive the following error: >SetupNew\setup.cpp(135) PAPP: PVENDOR: PGUID: $14.0.0.162 @Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) IE 7.0.6000.16827 ----------------------------------------------- All this started when I installed Internet Explorer 8 causing my Pro Tools Application to freeze when trying to open a new and existing project. I've already uninstalled both IE 8 and 7. I've tried doing a system restore with no success. and tried to work through a new user account with no luck. Today I'm trying to reinstall Pro Tools, but now the setup won't launch with the error that you see above. I've completely uninstalled IE permanently and now working with Mozzila Firefox. The hell with IE. NOTE: Notice that the last line in the error message states IE for Internet Explorer. Please Help. ~Michael Ramirez Recording Artist/Producer/Recording Engineer www.michaelramirez.biz www.myspace.com/michaelramirezmusic Last edited by Michael Ramirez Music; 07-05-2009 at 11:42 AM. Re: Someone please help me!
Have you run the uninstaller for PT8 first? If not, please do so, then restart and reinstall.

Re: Someone please help me!
Dudes! Known issue. http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=243183 It's a sticky even! Uninstall IE8 (Uh, get another browser 1st like Google Chrome or something) and then reinstall PT if necessary.

Re: Someone please help me!
I already uninstalled IE 8 and 7. And now I've installed Mozzilla Firefox with success. The problem I have is launching my Pro Tools setup. When I do, an error appears as I mentioned before when I first started this thread. Please read the error message.

http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=187759 To where you will find this. "- Uninstall and reinstall Pro Tools (This is done only if you cannot solve the problem through any of the above steps or if the issue points specifically to a corrupted Pro Tools installation) Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove Pro Tools LE. Then reinstall the software from CD-ROM or web download. If you are unable to remove using this method, you can use the Pro Tools Uninstaller Utility for Windows XP which will remove all Pro Tools components from your system (a version for Windows Vista will be coming shortly). " Click on "PRO TOOLS Uninstaller Utility" It will take you to this link. http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...4&itemid=27019 Download Pro Tools 8 Uninstaller Use the uninstaller to uninstall PT8. Reboot. Google a utility called CCleaner it is free. You can find it at www.filehippo.com Install it and and use the registry cleaning function of CCleaner. Run it a few times until it comes back with no "No issues were found". Reboot. Now start your install process again.
