HD Native PCIe in Mac Pro 2019

Picked up a 2019 MP to test out. Used HD Driver 2022.5 with Monterey in the MP 2019. Put in on a bootable PCIe M.2 drive. The HD Native card is in Slot 2. The initial setup was quick. Then I tried loading HD Driver 2024.10 on the system drive. Played around too long before I ended up with HD Driver 2023.3.

There were bunch of Avid background drivers I needed to authorize. PT Ultimate loaded okay, although I set up an aggregate output before I could use the HD Native PCIe connected to the OMNI. Probably a quicker method.

The HD Driver is now available in both Monterey and Sonoma. I think the build date for the Native PCIe is 2011!

my card has been running fine since I moved to the new MP a year ago. I always used the most current HD driver. The only machine that you need the HD 23.3 driver for are the 5,1 Macs. The newer versions don't work on them but that's mentioned in the release notes.

I will give the 2024.10 HD driver another go. I was testing out a used HD Native PCIe card and was happy it was working okay. My other HD Native PCIe cards have have been working fine in 5,1 MPs, but some trepidation hits me whenever a newer version of PT arrives.

The HD Native PCIe card in my 2010 MP Catalina machine has an FPGA version 1.00.4. This recent card in the 2019 MP is FPGA 1.05.0 [0.02.0]. Both cards were manufactured in 2011.

Do you know if either card's FPGA version will run in both Catalina and Sonoma? Or if a newer FW is backward compatible and will work in an older Mac OS? The HD driver in the 2010 MP 5,1 is 20.12.0.190.

can't remember but the card (incl HDX) needed FW update/flashing a few years ago for a certain PT version and above. Nothing really changed since then. It's been too long since I left Catalina behind. Before moving to the MP M2 I was running Ventura via OCLP on my 5,1 without issues.
