First impression is good. No crash with Logic Pro 11.0.1, S3, Control so far (used to crash on Logic exit). I really like the show / hide ability for Desktop Control app.

Thanks to Guys post, I just realized HOW big this update is!! I will try these new Surface commands today. They could make a very big difference to my workflow.

The app is there too now. All good!

There's just one last improvement I'd like - that the highlighted track be much more obvious. Yellow box round it, or much brighter colour on the Control App, and perhaps inverted colours on the OLED (but that's less important).

Other than that, it's basically perfect!

Totally agree - this is a brilliant update and well worth the wait. The only two small things I wish for is that it could retain the status of the chained macro when selecting other tracks. For example - I've set up a macro to Select Sends, Enter Channel Mode and Flip the faders - but what I'd love to do is now select other tracks, and for those settings to be retained. As it stands now, selecting another track using the Set buttons on the S3 disengages Channel Mode. Unless there's a setting I'm missing somewhere...?

Also, being able to designate which row of pots the new Soft Key selects would be great for S3 users - although I'm guessing it not priority now it's EOL.

All that said, it's still a great update, and hugely appreciated.

Can someone please explain why the control app on my ipad spontaneously updated even though automatic updates is turned off on the ipad?
Now instead of working, I need to update the computer and the other tablets and pray that nothing breaks.

This is the second time this has happened and it's a incredible PITA at the start of a workday!

Yes, this is the OS update setting not the Apple App Store setting. You need to set the App Store not to update Apps.

I would worry too much this release seems to be a vast improvement over the last, especially in the tablet respect.

Ah, ok. I hadn't realized that was a separate setting. I'm not really an ipad user at all. I did update everything and it seems to be working, so that's good. Thanks.



This issue might seem obvious, but I think it would be good to make that distinction clear with a warning somewhere that explains the difference for dummies like me.
