Default Sequoia !?

Anyone brave enough to see if Sequoia is working with Carbon!?
I am currently on Senoma (after I botched up an update), I know that it’s unsupported but have not seen any of the symptoms that have been reported by Avid (dropped samples). Apple is more then likely not going to fix the AVB bug in Sonoma and will move forward with Sequoia. Historically Avid takes their time with blessing new OS updates. So I don’t see Avid blessing Sequoia for Carbon users before it is ready for Protools in general. So that would be about a year from now
Correct me if I’m wrong

Tried Sequoia on my M1 Mac Studio 24-6 Ventura 13.7. A desaster, unusuable AVB. Went back to my rocksolid Ventura.

Interesting. How were you able to get right back to Ventura again!?
Did you use a separate partition to install Sequoia?
And thanks for reporting on this

I´ve used an usb-stick and a downloaded Ventura- installer, then restored my time-machine backup. Everything worked fine. Here is how it works:

Yeah I foolishly started building up my system on my current MacStudio, that came with Sonoma installed, earlier this year. So if I had to roll back to Ventura I would have to build from scratch again
That being said I have yet to see any of the problems that Sonoma is supposed to have. I was just hoping that Apple would fix the AVB problems. If I ever do see problems arising with Sonoma, I will have to eat it and build from scratch again with Ventura.

I updated to sequoia, agree with previous sentiment. Was working fine on sonoma even though it wasnt certified. Sequoia is HORRIBLE. Drops out constantly, artifacting, AVB loses the carbon every 10-15 minutes.

I recommend not upgrading. After 2 OS updates we really need to get these issues fixed. This is expensive hardware to be stuck on not second but THIRD generation OS.

I think we'll have to wait for the release of macOS Sequoia 15.1, which fixes the ethernet and AVB problems. The latest beta and rc versions look promising. Apple has announced that this new version will be released next week. I expect the new version of Pro Tools to be launched at the same time or just after.

Hate to have a go at Apple but, you do have to wonder why every other OS release seems to break AVB... this seems to have been going on for the last ten years or so! I wonder what their QC criteria are.

Tracked some vocals over the weekend and didn’t notice any dropouts or show stopping issues. I’m using the Sonet AVB adapter plugged into an M2 Max Studio.
