EuControl 23.11 crashes Logic Pro 11.0.1 on startup

Appologies if this is in the wrong pace, I couldn't find a EuControl forum.

It's been a very long day! I've needed to load some projects in Logic Pro only to discover it crashes as soon as it tries to open a window after starting up.

It's taken me all day to figure out that EuControl is the culprit. Removing EuControl from my system (using the unified installer) is the only thing that allows logic to open again as normal (all projects and plugins working).

I re-installed Eucon and the problem came back immediately.

There is more but I think this is the relevant part.

I only recently got an S1 and Dock to replace an SSL UF8, and couldn't be happier with them in Pro Tools. However, Logic now won't load at all!

I have tracked this down specifically to one file. If I remove it to my desktop I can at least open logic and then move it back when I'm working in Pro Tools.

The file in question is /usr/local/lib/libEuCon2.dylib

Needless to say, Eucon isn't working in logic if I remove this file - but that is the only way I can open Logic.

EuControl app doesn't have to be running. The very presence of this file prevents logic from working.

This is the correct forum. This is a known issue that requires a fix on both our side (EUCON) and Apple's (Logic). We have made our fix, and it will be in EUCON 24.10. We have sent all the details to Apple about their bit and they are generally good at jumping on it.
Note, the fix we did clears this up 90% already for EuControl. (not so much for S6 unfortunately)

Amazing! Great to know you (and apple) are on the case! Only a month or so of moving that file around - it's much more bearable when you know when it's going to be fixed

Unfortunately, the EUCON 2024.10 update hasn't fixed this issue. I still can't open a Logic 11 project unless I move /usr/local/lib/libEuCon2.dylib to a different location.

I suppose I'll have to wait for a fix from apple.

Many others have reported this fixed including beta testers. I wonder if you have a bad install. Using the installer check remove all apps and remove all prefs, reboot and reinstall. Make sure Logic is the latest update. If it still does this, can you create a new blank session, not from a template and see if thats OK.

Thanks Eddie, I finally got this working. Eucon is now working great with Logic Pro!

In case it helps anyone else: Reinstall didn't work. I did some digging in the crash log and tested everything on my MacBook (not my main studio computer). Looks like my Hackingtosh needed an ethernet driver so I installed IntelMausi.kext and now everything is working great.
