Re: Setting up HUI in ptle 8
Quote:
1.Set your ZOOM to the HUI control, see the manual for that 2. Connect the MIDI OUT of the Zoom to the MIDI IN on your protools interface or midi box your using 3. Connect the MIDI OUT of the Protools interface or midi box to the MIDI IN on the ZOOM. 4. Go to the peripherals window in Protools and select HUI as the control surface and select the MIDI OUT port your using and the MIDI IN port your using. THats all I can remember since I dont have tools anymore nor am I using HUI now

Re: Setting up HUI in ptle 8
Ok, now that out of the way it's giving me a message saying "' protools is unable to communicate with the hui. Powercycle hui and check connections(good). Note, if hui is not in use, update the peripheral dialog to prevent further warnings" ...

Re: Setting up HUI in ptle 8
Windows or Mac?
If the Zoom has MIDI over USB I personally would just use the USB cable instead of MIDI cables, but I am not familiar with the Zoom. Make sure the Zoom is powered on before you start your PC. If you are on Windows Vista/7 make sure you Right Click the Pro Tools Icon and choose Run As Admin instead of just double clicking to launch.

Re: Setting up HUI in ptle 8
If you have the cables hooked up to and from the Zoom and youve selected the HUI in the peripherals AND selected the MIDI port your using then the issue is now at the ZOOM, make SURE you read the Zoom manual and figure out how to put it into HUI mode. If not, you will get that error. If the midi connections are not bi-directional or the ZOOM isnt set to HUI mode youll get that issue.

Re: Setting up HUI in ptle 8
