Apollo Solo/Pro Tools 2022/Windows 10
Hi,
I will put this here too - just if You have experienced something like this... I have had UAD Apollo Solo for two years nad I really like it. Great interface in all. I am on Windows 10 22H2. There are still some plugins that won't run w/ Windows 11. BUT there is one problem w/ the Apollo. If I power it on before Windows Pro Tolls/Windows won't reconize it. But if I wait until Windows is on and then power the Apollo there is no problem. This is quite bizare. If You ie. re-strat your system, You will have to take power off the Apollo and then wait until Windows is on to power it. This is silly. I don't know how to solve this. I have done every settings UAD, Pro Tools and Windows asks to be a studio PC: What should I do? Thanks for your answers.

This does not seem anything to do with Pro Tools software. You are likely to make more progress with UAD support or others over on https://uadforum.com.

Re: Apollo Solo/Pro Tools 2022/Windows 10
I've experienced this in the past with devices that have a power button. Remembering to power down/up in a certain order was the only way to send the call to recognize regardless of any settings.
Now that I recall, it was this way with my Presonus Fader Port Production Controller. It always had to be as follows: Start Windows>Power up Fader Port>Start Pro Tools Vice versa for shut down. I know it would be nice to have it automatic like USB powered. In this case, the best thing to do is just imagine you're initializing startup for the Starship Enterprise each time. Saying each step out loud as you do it. I think the power button is the only way to send the gamma signal to open the star port.

Re: Apollo Solo/Pro Tools 2022/Windows 10
Odd. Using an Apollo 8 TB (rack), and it’s on the same power switch/circuit as the console. Power up everything, boot computer. Never an issue.
Also have a 1st gen Faderport, and it’s ON all the time. (They derive their power thru the USB, primarily. The wall wart supposedly just drives the motorized fader.) Check and make sure all your USB power management is disabled, maybe? |
