Default Question about PT and Komplete Kontrol

Hey folks. So in short, I'm trialing PT (2021.3.1) and a Mac Mini w/ M1 chip.

I FULLY realize that the M1 isn't qualified as of yet. But everything works wonderfully except for one single thing.

I own Komplete 13 Ultimate and a S88 Mk2 keyboard. When I open an instance of Komplete Kontrol in PT, I cannot choose the patch or instrument I want inside KK from the keyboard. When I push 'Browser' on the keyboard, nothing happens in PT.

PT sees my board, I can play music with my board, I can make the instrument selection inside of PT with the mouse, etc. I just can't use the keyboard to make those selections.

KK works perfectly as a stand-alone and works perfectly inside Cubase.

So, does anyone else have this setup and can test? Is there a setting for PT that I might be missing? Do you think its just down to the M1 not being qualified yet?

Also, the transport doesn't work but I think that's known for a long time?

Sorry to bother everyone.. Hope someone can give some feedback as I have just a couple days to decide on how to proceed (buy or not)

Thanks,
DEPG

NI and Avid are both not qualified on m1 macs yet. That's why.

Transport of KK plugin never worked in protools. There are kludge work arounds but no it doesn't work.

NI works perfectly fine standalone or in S1, or Cubase, or Logic or Reaper.

I can accept, however, that its an issue with PT qualification -- if you know for certain that is the case.

It's also not qualified from NI. So both avid and NI

I get that both Protools and NI are not M1 certified yet. Do they work on Intel Macs (with Big Sur), or does that also require kludgy work arounds? I was contemplating getting Komplete 13 and Komplete Kontrol S88 MkII also, so this is very pertinent to me.

Do you have this setup and know this for a fact (that this is the issue)? I appreciate the help.. just want to be sure before making decisions.

I can CONFIRM that everything except Massive X works just peachy in PT. Obviously, the issue I'm experiencing with my S88 notwithstanding.

My NI library (Komplete 13 Ultimate) works straight up. You're asking about intel but I can confirm they work great on Big Sur and M1.

I use machine studio. Machine jam. KK 66 mk2. Works in protools Intel Mac pro 71. And macpro 51. And macbook pro 16 Intel i9.

If you read compatability docs on native instruments they say it is not yet qualified but you can install and try it.

Both avid and NI do not have m1 fully qualified. It doesn't get any clear than that. It might work or might not.

With NI I usually follow their guidelines as their software as prtools plugins are finicky imo.

Thanks for the information.

Is it 'fair' to expect that things will work as they should once the M1 is qualified?
