Default What all does everyone use "Pad" on?

I feel like most inputs including wireless mics need to be padded on my sc48. Am I doing something wrong?

Sensitivity setting on the e835 wireless is at -42db.

With pad on, the gain on the channel is at 12 o clock position (+36db i think).

Use the pad on anything that still clips with the gain turned down. Many people set the output level of wireless receivers to line level, which is much hotter than most any wired microphone. When I am in charge of wireless, I set receivers to output a mic-level signal. That way, if I need to swap in a wired mic, gain is still in the ballpark

Mine is at +18dB (the default) on the sennheiser receivers.

What would I turn it down to? Range is -24db to +24db.

Set it to 0db and see how that works with the SC48

I was reading the manual and noticed this..
"Mic inputs have a gain range from +10 dB to +60 dB. Analog line inputs and digital inputs have a gain range from –20 dB to +18 dB."

Does the SC48 treat all inputs as Mic Level? I am used to have a seperate line in jack on the boards..so excuse my ignorance.

I would say that's true for all the AI16 XLR inputs. They are mic inputs that can accept line level inputs as needed using the pad. The 1/4 inputs like the ones on the IO16 and the AES inputs are certainly line level and don't have enough gain for mic level sources.
