Default dell vostro 410 ok for protools?

The dell vostro series seems to be getting some love on other forums for a cheap DAW.

But will they work for PT?

good question.

looked at the same system a few days ago. Having a good understanding of FSB (1066 vs 1333).... how does the L2 cache come into play? 4, 6, 12mb. Is one greatly better than the other as far as DAWs.

Larger L2 cache will deliver better performance overall. These computers look like the can be cost effective to a point, if you are not a demanding user and are willing to purchase an approved firewire card and additional approved hard drive for audio.
Don’t expect them to compete with the new i7 self buids, they won’t.
