PT 2021.10 - Monterey - M1 Max - EuCon - Joy

Following on from a post in main PT forum where i ranted about how I was blown away to be able to record a 1024 track session in PT, whilst also recording a backup session in Reaper that was 4096 tracks..

Given that my experience with M1 / Monterey thus far has been fantastic I thought I would try EuCon and I am so pleased to say that it too is working brilliantly on this laptop. It feels the fastest that I have ever experienced - that includes the main studio Mac Pro and old Euphonix S5 Hybrid systems.

I have an S3, Transport, Control Desktop and iPad Control all running fluidly. Great stuff Eddie!

Obviously, M1 / Monterey means I lose out on some plugins and I am sure there will be some show-stopping issues on a full blown production session. But boy, the future looks bright!

You might consider giving PT 2021.12 a spin as well. There were several Monterey improvements in it, although we are not quite to a place to qualify the OS.

Hi Mark,

After todays session I grabbed 2021.12 and gave it a bit of time. I am thrilled to find that the bug/freeze related to the TC/E functions caused by the Accelerate FFT/Convolution framework has successfully been able to be worked around.
