How do you set up a Satellite Link?
Hello community,
I was curious as to how you set a Satellite Link between two machines to set up a slave laptop to run video. Do I need two iLok assets to do this, or can I share USB ports over a network? Will this take load off of my main 12HD system? I apologise for the n00b questions, but this is the first time I have ever thought about incorporating it into my workflow.

Re: How do you set up a Satellite Link?
I'm pretty sure you need to be actually running 'HD Hardware' to be able to use satellite....not just the HD software.
So you would need an HDX card, HDN card or HD Thunderbolt on the main system. Otherwise the option doesn't even show up. Of course I could be wrong , but thats what happens at my place. |
