Autmation/gain editing on multiple tracks
Dear Community,
either this question has a really easy answer I missed over the years or there hasn't been an update addressing this issue: Is there a simple was of editing automation on multiple (selected tracks) without having to have them in a common group? Same thing would be about changing the fader gains on multiple tracks not having them grouped. I now there are many work arounds regarding this issues. I'm wondering I'm probably missing the shortest way possible for solving these issues...can't imagine Pro Tools wouldn't have such practical parameters. Thanks in advance! J |

Re: Autmation/gain editing on multiple tracks
No.
But if you want to not work with tracks in a standard group, you can make a group assigned to a vca. (when you make a VCA and then assign a group letter to it, the members of the group act differently; moving the VCA adjusts all members in a relative way but the individual members operate independently too)

Re: Autmation/gain editing on multiple tracks
You can use the trim tool on Clip Gain to raise and lower volume on multiple selected clips, but not with breakpoints. In Volume automation, groups and VCAs are the most efficient way of doing it. Get to grips with the key commands for creating and turning groups on and off and it becomes a pretty instant problem solver.

Re: Autmation/gain editing on multiple tracks
Like the others have said, you'll need to get used to groups/vcas. Sadly there's no equivalent of the 'temporary grouping' feature in Logic - I've often wished for it.
