Plug-in Failure
I had a hard drive go almost dead on me. I fortunately had been backing up all of my files generated from Pro Tools as I went along. The drive got to the point where it was just a real pain.
I changed the drive letter of the defective drive. I connected the replacement drive and changed its drive letter to the letter of the previous (defective drive). Pro Tools boots up just fine. All of my work is there and accessible but when I go to use any of the native PT8 plugins (BOOM, etc.), although they show in the list, they do not instantiate. What do I need to do to correct the problem? Thanks |

Re: Plug-in Failure
Let's talk about your drive configuration. I'm assuming you have this set up with:
A system drive. This is where you PT install and all your plugins go. A dedicated audio drive, where you record all your sessions. Which drive gave you trouble? |

Re: Plug-in Failure
I found out what my problem was. Simply naming the drive correctly wasn't good enough. I had to go to the disk allocation window and select that drive. After doing that everything worked like a charm.

Re: Plug-in Failure
Good work. I had this situation my self a while ago, going from recording to system drive to external firewire harddrive. I had to change the disk allocation in all my sessions. I wish there would be a global setting for this.
