Loud White noise fades on fades and dissolves!

Pro Tools Native 9.0.2 on Mac OS 10.6.4 has suddenly decided to create white noise on all new fades and crossfades. Not sure what caused this because previous fades are working fine. We've trashed and rebuilt the Pro Tools Prefs but that didn't solve anything. We opened up a 9.0.2 session on a 8.0.5 TDM workstation and the fades still make noise so it appears to travel with the audio files. Ideas?!

Can you delete and re-do the fades? Have you tried opening an earlier auto-backup version of the session?

Thanks for the response. Deleting and redoing the fades gives the same results. We even saved a copy of the session without the fades and then opened it up (rendering a new Fades Folder and new fades) but the result was the same. We'll try the session back up too. But since the problem migrated to a whole another computer and Pro Tools version I fear it is in "the code" somewhere. As the fades are being written into or else played from the Fades Folder they are corrupted. Weird. Avid's Knowledge Base doesn't seem to have any clues either. Still working on a solution....

Just found out the back up session is the same. Previously written fades are OK. New ones are corrupt. Hard to say what happened in between.
