Default OT - Anyone going to AES next week?

Hey all. The AES conference is next weekend in NY. (October 10-13) I'll be there all day on Friday. Anyone else?

I may just be down for that pub, senior Bass Tard. Let's talk by cell next Fri. I'm planning on getting to the show at around noon, and I doubt that I can handle more than 4 or 5 hours of it.

And no, dang it, it's NOT free. It's a whopping 30 bucks, but I'm taking it like a man 'cause it's a really phat show (pronounced Puh-Hat) and it only comes around every other year. (They have to give the freaks in LA a chance to have it there. Why, I ask? )

It used to be free for AES members, and now they're not even doing that. And where are all the vendors who used to comp me tickets? Huh? Where are you guys? Don't you know who I am?

Hi Soundsurfr,

I was thinking of coming into the city for that, but I just booked an all day session on that date.... Stamford is only a 30 minute commute into the city. Do you live on the Island ?

have some fun.

I'm going... I recieved a free pass from Future Media Concepts where I'm taking my PT training on this weekend.

Looks like it should be good.

"everyone's first guiness is on soundsurfr " Since I work for Guinness I may just tag along for a pint!

Excellent. And the next two are on DB.

Someone asked what AES is - it's the Audio Engineering Society conference, being held at the Jacob Javits Exhibition Center in Manhattan. About the most awesome assemblage of pro-audio equipment manufacturers anywhere. Not to be missed if you can get to the Big Apple next weekend.

Hello. I got the full program. The AES convention is much, much, much more than the the exhibit floor. There are technical papers presented, workshops, roundtables. This year's program is chock full of great stuff. Digidesign is teaming up with Microsoft and having seminars every day explaining their software and stuff like that. For more info, check www.aes.org

The AES convention is a yearly act of frustration for me. I never have time to go to all the program events that interest me and hit every booth on the floor. I always seem to miss something and hear about it later that makes me go 'duhh!'
