Monitors aren't playing sound

i am going crazy over here. I can't figure out why my speakers aren't monitoring sound. We just set up our digi 003 workstation last night - so we are super new to this. Any help is appreciated.

once again, you need to give us more information so we can help you, from the little info you've told us about your system so far the only thing i can suggest is are they turned on?

The speakers are turned on. We have a MAC Pro. The workstation console (Digi 003) is acknowledging that we are online, and creating tracks and that we have a midi connected (even though there is no sound when we press the keys. We just can't figure out why sound isn't coming out of the monitors we have connected. I hope that's a little better of an explanation.
