Default expand faders quick question

Hi All,
I just replaced my MTM. So I'm starting from scratch, probably for the best. I am stuck on one issue. I can't seem to get the expand fader module to work as is used to. I used to have it set to expand insert 4, which is dns 1. I have that selected in the settings and I have auto expand faders in the user settings. I think that's all I did years ago to get it to automatically expand the attn channel. What I'm I missing. I can not get anything to attn on my fader expand zone now. The faders jump all the way down like they are waiting for me to attn a track but nothing happens when I do. Little help please.

Greetings!

Here are a few things to try:

Make sure that whatever expand fader map you are trying to access first is accessible in a local expand from standard channel strips:
Navigate to the function - or insert parameters page for a plug-in then press Exp. If you have Settings > User > Auto Expand Faders disabled, then you will have to hold down Exp for a few seconds to bring up the Expand Faders in addition to the Expand Knobs.

If you need to recreate your maps, use Attention + Exp from the strip containing the function you want to program.

Once you have determined that the local expand fader is good for your function, enable the Attention Expand Fader Zone - either from the (Extras) Soft Keys or from the Home > Local Options > Enable Attention Expand Fader Zone.

From there -> on the same Local Options page of Home, configure Expand Fader Function to set the target for what you want to populate there on attention. Let me know how it goes!

Yes that works. I can see the Cedar on the knob expanded

Navigate to the function - or insert parameters page for a plug-in then press Exp. If you have Settings > User > Auto Expand Faders disabled, then you will have to hold down Exp for a few seconds to bring up the Expand Faders in addition to the Expand Knobs.

The have expand faders enabled in the user session. When I do this the expand button turns while really light blue it that what should be happening?

If you need to recreate your maps, use Attention + Exp from the strip containing the function you want to program.

This makes the expand button white or light blue still. No flashing knobs to program I'm stuck here.

Not good.

Is Auto Expand enabled under Settings > Users?

And is the Triangle with the Faders Soft Key at the bottom of Extras White or Purple?

Also - please indicate S6 and Pro Tools software versions.

The whole enchilada is here:

Thanks. From your description:Yes that works. I can see the Cedar on the knob expanded.

It doesn't sound like you have a map defined. If you had a map defined and you pressed Exp (even from a local fader bank) you would see faders populated with parameters. Scan through the video I posted and let me know if you still have questions.

Wondering if this ever got resolved. I'm having the same issue with the S6 not wanting to Expand knobs to faders. I've checked preferences but completely at a loss after checking manual and watching videos in case I forgot how to do it but it doesn't function as it should

Greetings,

Are you running EUCON version 21.6 or later? If so, your existing Expand Fader maps will need to be recreated - from the Master Module by first Attentioning the function (Insert > Parameters for example) then touching the Fader Module (illuminates in purple) to designate the section to map.

If you are using a dedicated On Attention Expand Fader zone - ensure a few things:
The Expand Fader Zone is not suspended.
If the On Attention Function is set to "Inserts Any" - make sure the Inserts chain is not collapsed on the function scroller.

Let us know what you find.

Yes I got it sorted. For me it was a networking issue. I had my dante network switch and my internet network switch for some reason with the same network gateway. I changed the network gateway on my dante switch to a non internet network address and everything worked 100%.
