Not in front of Windows PT but does it have
"SETUP > MIDI > MIDI Input Devices"? You should see whatever port you have the XP80 connected to there and it should be checked. The Command 8 is funny because it is both a MIDI peripheral itself and a MIDI interface for external controllers. Two completely different parts of PT setup.

OK, So in MIDI Input Devices, I show
FW 003 MIDI 1 (In/Out) It is checked FW003 MIDI AsyncMidControl. It is NOT checked FW003 MIDI Midicontrol. It is NOT checked. Command|8 Emulated. It IS checked MIDI2 (Command|8) Emulated. It IS checked. MIDI3 (Command|8) Emulated. It IS checked. so, having the Command 8 boxes checked enables it to control PT The 003 RACK is only connected to the computer via Firewire. I had thought that the 003 needed to be connected directly to the Command 8.

I am surprised the 003 Rack works in W11. But cool.
It does not connect in any way to the C8. They are independent devices. I always liked having the MIDI ports on the C8 because it gave me a easy access on the desktop if needed.
