Default Motu 4pre? Any users here?

I am considering gettig a new interface. I currently have older M-audio interfaces but drivers suport is long gone. I have a Profire 610 primarily and a Mobile pre that I mostly just to keep connected to my monitors for playback

I am looking for something with 4 mic pre's and the Behringer for $169 looks tempting but the MOTU looks like it might be a lot better but then it's twice as much. key advantages for me are the second headphone jack and dual interface of both firewire and USB.

Are there any other sub-$500 interfaces I should be looking at? New or used is fine.

Hmmm, my thoughts:
1-I would expect MOTU to be a better product than Behringer(see 2)
2-I have no ax to grind with Behringer and use(and have used) many of their products. My only complaint with their interface is that the main output level is quite low compared to any other interface I have used(audio quality was fine, though).
3-M-Audio is one of those companies that I recommend against(and you discovered a major reason)
4-Staying on the lower priced end of things, I would also consider the Presonus Studio interfaces. I was quite happy with the Studio 1810c here, once I got their routing software configured(expect similar for all 3rd party options). The only reason I made a change was that I was offered a really good deal on an HDN card and 192(but the preamps I use are the Behringer ADA8200).

I will check out Presonus some more. I looked some but didn't find the features I was looking for.

Driver support is going to be a big deal after what maudio did. Which is interesting because I liked MAudio's driver support before Avid sold them off. Support just dropped overnight

You have yet to mention budget, so you should also look at RME. They have probably the best drivers of any company, and based on what I read on the DUC, they support older interfaces better than anyone. Presonus has done a good job on this, BUT, they have dropped support on some older stuff(but as that stuff was maybe not worth saving anyway)
