I don't think it is possible to split the mix and edit windows. I tried last night and I couldn't do it with my ati card. I can move around the plug-ins, transport, etc, but the mix and edit share the same desktop.

Its the same for me with wavelab. I can move around the plug ins, etc, but the actual "working" wav files are contained in the same desktop space.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong, i think thats just the way it is.

Noooooooo, nono...

I do this everyday. I use a Matrox G450. When PT LE launches it launches as maximized. Just Unmaximize it by clicking on the button on the top right of the main window which has 2 little squares in it (It is next to the Close Window button with X)
Then stretch the main program window over the 2 monitors and there you should be able to open mix on the right and edit on the left. Do these after opening/creating your session.

I see now. Literally S-T-R-E-T-C-H the pro tools window accross both screens. Cool!

I do. One system w/ dual 17" and one with dual 19". Radeon VE with the 17" and radeon 8500 with the 19". the 19" monitor setup is new.

This is not even luxury anymore. I wish we had a better support for this though. Stretching everytime sux.

ditto on that ....stretching everytime sucks...probably easier than having a kid though!! All of a sudden ..stretching the screen doesnt seem that bad

You have to minamise Pro tools and than stretch the program across both your monitors. You have to do this each time you re-start.
