Default Install flags PT Helper file as Malware?

Win 10 Pro
64 bit

Didn't have an issue with 2021.3... but when removed and installed 2021.3 1 my Webroot anti virus sees the Pro Tools Helper file as Malware? Software will run but nothing shows up when entering any drop down in Help. Have downloaded several fresh times from my Avid account. Never had a problem with any updates since 12.5 . What is happening? Thanks

The usual instruction for any s/w install is to disable anti-virus when installing for just this reason. Unplug from the net, disable anti-virus, install, reboot, re-enable anti-virus. Done.

Correct. I did disable Webroot antivirus as well as Windows Defender when downloading the new version and installing. Then, after rebooting system I enabled antivirus back on again. Web Root still catches it. Then I tell it to ALLOW the file. When I run the newer 2021.3.1 software and try to open the help menu..., none of the drop downs hold any information and an error message comes up. Never did this before.

FWIW, Windows Defender has never flagged Avid software

This is happening to me. Webroot says Pro Tools Helper is malware and suggests I remove it. It seems to not make sense to "disconnect from the net and reinstall" The install process gets Pro Tools from the net, right? Anyway, my question is a) can I simply remove Pro Tools Helper as Webroot suggests? or b) can I just ignore Webroot, and leave ProTools Helper intact? My gut instinct now that I know Pro Tools Helper is not malware is to simply ignore Webroot and leave well enough alone.

That^^^ or kill the Webroot process in Task Manager before running the installer. When the system reboots after the installer finishes, Webroot will be active again with nothing required from you.

I think Webroot did a more critical update this year and that's why it is catching it. I told Webroot too "Allow it" . No problem after that. I wanted to keep the Helper so that's what worked for me. Otherwise, every time you open Pro Tools, it will stop it.
