Default Looking to recreate the sound of a Nine Inch Nails song

I don't know if i'm describing this right or not but I was looking to recreate the kind of hollowness in his voice if anyone could help me recreate this effect I would greatly appreciate it.

Here's the link to song
I would recommend wearing headphones to fully hear what i'm talking about

Thanks

Sounds to me like he sang it in the same room as the piano (is he playing and singing??) and you're hearing the bleed of his voice into the piano mikes. Either that, or they set up a spaced pair of omni's in the room and turned them up while turning down his main vocal mike. Add some compression and you'll have it - shouldn't be hard to recreate at all.

Thank you for the quick response and yes he is singing and playing the piano at the same time, there is also a guitarist in the room.

Here's a YouTube video of it but I think this is a slightly different version of the song.

Sounds like the mic has been placed further away from him. What you hear is plain and simple the reflections of the room.
Just step away a good bit from you mic, and you should have that effect (given you not in a booth, but in a "normal" room).

Sorry but I don't hear any NIN music but hear some woman speaking an oriental language. I highlight the link, right click to do a Google search, and that's what comes up. Maybe a full link would help?

Like cwsand said it sounds like his voice is coming through the piano mics instead of his regular vocal mic (if Trent had one). I've heard something like this far too often when trying to use a single mic pointed at the soundhole of an acoustic guitar while the player is singing.
