Help: 002 mixer faders locked

When I pull up a session in pro tools, the faders snap to the corresponding faders in pro tools as they should. When I try and move the faders on the 002, they jump back up to their locked position like track automation is on, when it isnt......But, when I move a fader in pro tools the fader will move on the 002......I have run the 002 through fader caliberation and everything seems to be fine...I'm thinking its a setting in pro tools that might turn off the locking on the faders?

I just got this 002 yesterday and I really have no idea what to do i've been searching on the internet but cant seem to find anything.....

First, make sure the 002 is plugged into a grounded AC outlet. A solid ground is required as the fader caps are conductive and read the capacitance of your skin(I hope you did not replace these with plastic caps). Using plastic caps without the conductive silver paint would cause this. Sometimes when it gets extremely dry, you might get this too. A pain in the neck solution would be to use a wrist grounding strap. Also, since we are talking about a DIGI002, I suppose its possible that the power harness might be causing a poor connection to the PCB that feeds the faders, so you might consider re-seating the harness(several times on each of 4 connections).
