Default Latency problem

I would like to know how to reduce latency on recording with the 003 rack. We already set the buffer size to 128 samples and all the other options in the playback engine menu. We have a PPC G5 dual 1.8 with 1 GB of ram. If anyone has a solution......

monitor the track being recorded at the source BEFORE it goes to Pro Tools, otherwise you're SOL. If you are using the 003 mic pres - uh - well that might not work, but if you are using an outboard mic pre split the signal out to something like a Mackie and create a monitor mix there instead of the 003.

I assume (incorrectly?) that the 003 has the same Low Latency Monitoring feature as the 002. This is DSP-assisted monitoring in the interface itself, and delivers lower latency than the lowest buffer setting. Only gotcha is that plugins on the record-enabled tracks aren't enabled during recording.

Low latency monitoring is enabled somewhere in ProTools, there's not button or switch on the interface for it.
