Default Editing, selections, etc

Lets say I have selection highlighted, press space to play, works great. Hit space again to stop and the selection goes away. Is this a preference setting? I would like to have my selection stay selected to listen to the section, then not have it unselect on stop.

Am I doing something wrong?

Anyone?

I use the "]" and "[" keys in command focus, for time line and edit selection play, respectively.

good luck,

Two options:

1. Shift+/ to separate the timelines

2. N in command focus mode (or Insertion Follows Playback in your prefs).

Thanks guys!

The behavior I was seeking came from disabling "Timeline insertion follows playback"
