Default C/24 talkback button is hosed!!!

C/24 talkback button will engage TB but press it again and it won't turn off. Same for press to talk. Just stays on. I can go into utilities and turn the TB off, but that is extremely inconvenient to do during the session. I have had this C/24 for 14-15 years and the TB button has probably been pressed over 1 million times lol. Ok maybe not 1 million but many many times. I need a replacement button. Where can I find one? Or am I SOL on a TB replacement button?

Hi there,
You might try a factory reset. If it’s the actual switch a couple of options.
Try and source the button and replace it. Also I believe there is a foot switch that can trigger the TB. You can wire that to a dedicated switch on your furniture. Have had to do that on older icons….
Cheers
Skip.

+1 for looking for a footswitch jack on the back of the C24. The switch is very likely some generic part that could be found at Mouser.com or Digikey.com. You might also check with any Avid-certified service shop. One I have used in the past is allproelectronics.com(they are in Nashville).

Hi Skip!! That is a great suggestion with foot switch input with TB. I did try all the resets BTW. I think I am going to use one of our Dangerous Music ST for monitoring/cue/TB and just leave the C/24 out of the signal path all together. The Dangerous is in one of our production rooms and it doesn't get used to its full potential anyway. I am still going to try to find the button replacement though. But now won't be in such a rush for a solution!

Fingers crossed that they can help! I actually gave up on using the button and automated the whole TB setup with Mute-O-Matic(free plugin) and a batch of used boundary mics(1 on my desk, 1 on the wall of the main room and 1 on the ceiling of the drum room)
