That shouldn't even be happening at all. Very odd. What happens if you just wait a few minutes after opining it the first time? Or...does it just hang?

Most of the time it just hangs, maybe once out of ten times It'll actually run. Sometimes it hangs before the splash screen, sometimes during loading plugins. Sometimes ill get the only one copy of protools can run at a time, other times I wont like in the screenshot. It certainly isnt encouraging to see this baffles you as well! Dang it...

you need to try to pull ALL the plugins out and dump them in your unused folder or something and then delete your databases and prefs, restart then launch pro tools.

+1 on this. This is where the trouble shooting should start.

Alrighty then, Ill try that when I get home. Do you reckon I should use the tech support folder to do it?

Hey guys, just did what you said(via the tech support folder), it hung again. Before the splash screen, just for the hell of it I also gave it a shot only with my system drive plugged in, same result. So does this mean the problem lies when attempting to write databases to my hard drives?

have you run 'chkdsk' on your system ? sounds like bad install or bad disk or conflicting service. first 2 moreso than last IMHO
