Two tips:

1. Turn OFF your caps lock. You are shouting. It is considered rude.

2. Read the manual thoroughly - twice. That's the best way to get the most out of it.

I agree, read the manual thru.
Skip all the sections marked "TDM only" as they don't pertain to you. This should shorten your reading/learning time significatly.

I agree too!! I've read the manual three times and learned some chapters. It is very helpful!

The Problem here Double edge is that only a fraction of these individuals are really musicians. The rest are just people who like to buy expensive toys and then get on the internet and bitch about "internet eticate". If you have questions they usually can anwswer, but only if you ask them in a the proper manner. dont let them bother you, most mean good, its just that all they do is read instruction manuals to musicianhood, and then they find themselves working at sam ash or something, and then they are just bitter. But honestly just read the manual, everything that can be done is described in there, figure out something you want to do,go to the index and do it.

When did this site become a soapbox for attitudes? People are swearing on a user conference that was put in place to help all of us who own this product. I have learned a lot from the people that post their knowledge on certain subjects. It sure beats breaking out the manual every time you have a question. And for people to start questioning musicianship what is the point? I could be a blues player with a ton of soul and could think my music was a lot better than 80's rock with all kind of guitar taping and sweeping and technique all over the place but with a lack of feel and soul. The point is everybody on this user conference is from different backgrounds and has different musical tastes music is art, expression, and should be enjoyable.

I've got a tip, I just started too but here goes, I just recorded a little bit of stuff not taking it seriously at all but still paying attention to mic placement levels etc.
Then I thought about how I could experiment with whatever silly and/or stupid thing I had recorded. When I got stuck...I read the manual. I learned quite a bit with these experiments, and because I was just screwin' around it wasn't a big deal when I made huge mistakes.
