Installing Pro Tools 10.3.9 FAILURE [SOLVED]
Hi all,
First time poster here, I've never had an issue like this before. I've tried installing Pro Tools 10.3.9 on my 2010 MBP several times, and each time installation seems to go smoothly until I restart my computer, and there is no trace of any installation having occurred. The Pro Tools app just isn't there. Has anyone heard of this happening before? I am running 10.8.5 Mountain Lion on a 2010 Macbook Pro. I'm utterly baffled.. what's going on here? Any tips or help is greatly appreciated! |

Re: Installing Pro Tools 10.3.9 FAILURE
Look for the Pro Tools 10 icon in the "/Applications/Pro Tools/" folder.

Yeah. I think I upgraded from a previous version and it used a different folder name at the time. Anyways, simply drag the icon to you dock (or desktop) and it will be easier to find.

Absolutely. Thanks again OD.
I see that you have a Liquid Saffire 56 and I recently got one. I'm really curious... did you hear a big difference between the different liquid pre's on the way in? |

Re: Installing Pro Tools 10.3.9 FAILURE [SOLVED]
The liquide près are fun to play with to get different flavors of sound. They are subtle but noticeable. I do mostly vocals with them and different mic models work better for some people but not others. My "go to" mic is a Neumann TLM103 which is pretty decent and generally transparent. This allows the mic pres to impart their influence. For acoustic instruments, I usually go for a more accurate capture of the original sound from the instrument and therefore don't use the liquid pres for those. I use the other 6 mic pres on the Saffire or some other outboard pre. Lately for electric guitar, I've been using using my Eleven Rack more. I tried many time to mic a guitar cab with less than stellar results (IMHO). The Eleven Rack just sounds right with minimal tweaking. That's just my opinion as I still get guitarists that insist on using their tube amp and cab only.
