I have tried by copying to a cd-r, that didn't work and also

What is the problem you're experiencing, exactly? Are you getting errors? Are the audio files not showing up?

The proper process would be to burn the session and the audio files folder for the session to a CD as a Mac/PC compatible CD (also make sure that Mac/PC compatibility is enabled in the Pro Tools session).

Then bring it to the Mac, copy it to a local hard drive and open the session.

when trying to load from a cd-r I think we were getting some error
saying that this cd has been locked or some sort to that nature
I can't remember..........I think he has OS 10 I believe... I don't

Did you copy the files from the CD to a valid audio drive? You can't open a session directly off a CD.

Call up your buddy and ask him for details about his system

I suppose to go by there tonight....So what im going to do is make another
cd-r and take it by there....Im going to make sure I have the audio files
loaded into the folder.....Excuse my lack of knowledge....I thought when
you load up the session everything falls into place, even the audio files....
So after loading up the session is he suppose to copy the audio files to his
hard drive and that will do the trick...?

Man I appreciate you people's time with this evolution
Im still a beginner with pro tools.....Thanks

Try this:
On your system, open the session and choose "Save session Copy In" and check All Audio Files at the bottom and make sure that you check mac/PC compatibility. Save it with a name that is descriptive and you will remember, like "(session name)Transfer".

Now close out and burn that entire "transfer" folder to your CD.

When you get to your buddy's place, copy it from the CD to hard Drive first.

Then open it in Protools from the hard drive, not the CD.

On your friend's Mac, have him/her make a folder for your project on a valid audio drive.
Insert the CD into the Mac.
After you insert the CD into the Mac, and it appears on the Desktop, double click the CD icon.
If you made a folder in Windows with the project in it, open it, other wise...
When that (CD, or folder) opens, you should see a ProTools Session icon, an Audio folder, a fades folder, and maybe a Digi Databases folder.
I would drag all of the files over to the folder your friend created on the valid audio hard drive on the Mac.
After the copy takes place, eject the CD, so that PT doesn't try and use it for the audio files.
Then either start ProTools, or double click the ProTools Session Icon.
ProTools will most likely need help finding the audio files. When it asks, make sure you navigate to the files located in your folder.
At this point, you should be in business.
If I left out anything, someone please chime in. I am at work and don't have access to PT to check step by step.
I hope this helps!
