Default Wheel Commands: I might be an idiot

I'm trying to figure out how to set the jog wheel to trim regions and slip audio inside of the region, similar to how its done in the euphonix/sound pure video on youtube.

@ 8:38 in the video
http://youtu.be/R9W9-hGTPsU

In the video they have the buttons set up for it (which I don't), and when I go thru all the wheel commands I can see & the trim end/start commands. They just don't work. Only the timeline selection moves, so it looks and moves how id want. Just without the region actually being trimmed.

I know its something easy and I'm jut too dumb to find it but if anyone can point me in the right direction id appreciate it!

MC control Filmware and software up to date.

Well, the wheel commands basically don't work very well in Logic, for example, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't in PT either....

For example: the nudge command doesn't respect the set nudge amount value and always nudges by one bar. Duhh, makes the feature pointless.

And on selecting a wheel command via MC Control softkey, *sometimes* the according icon on the touchscreen will be illuminated, sometimes it won't --- and the wheel function will work or not.

I'm not recommending the MC control to anybody anymore. Perhaps the MC Transport performs better in this regard, at least you can map key commands to the wheel, which might just work better.

Hi,

I'm afraid the MC Transport is fairly dire in this respect as well. it only moves in large chunks if at all. i've been trying to get it to adjust start and end points of a region, but with the same effect.

The shuttle wheel, in Logic at least, is completely useless, as nearly always returns to the beginning of the song when it is released.

I'm just hoping the next update will fix things

Have you tried creating a custom wheel command set, assigning the relevant key commands to the two wheel directions?

At the moment, when I try to set custom commands in Logic, I get the spinning beach ball most of the time.

In the wheel command drop down menu, there aren't the same options as in the video. Fewer options and not the proper ones.

You only get the option to assign key commands to the wheel with the MC Transport, not on the Control.

Can someone from avid/euphonix clear this up please! I dropped a lot of bread on PTHD native and this controller. Someone can chime in!
