Default Sonnet & Magma Anyone tested. Out yet?

Cheers,
Like so many others I was so disapointed with the "New" Mac Pro´s
that I´m looking for an other solution. Got my new HDX system still standing in a box Have anyone tryied Sonnet or Magma expansions?
Do they Work, are they out yet? Is really Macbook Pro the way to Go?
Sorry about so many questions but I really need my system to work now after waiting so long for Apple.

The Best/Mats

So buy the new 6 core machine which is $700 less than it was a week ago but just as powerful. And with an HDX card, I seriously doubt you'd ever max it out with music sessions. (not sure about those pesky VIs though)

Question Re: Sonnet & Magma Anyone tested. Out yet?

Thanks,

But I´m thinking of going the Macbook Pro way with Thunderbolt expansion. So is there anybody out there that tested this with Sonnet or magma I would appreciate a comment on this.

The Sonnet one is available. You might be okay on Windows, but for Mac, Avid needs to release a Thunderbolt driver in order to use it. They haven't done that yet, so we can't use it yet.

I heard that Magma is in the midst of Thunderbolt compliance testing with Intel and Apple. They are expecting to be able to ship “anytime soon. As soon as testing is complete, they we'll be shipping.

I'm running PT 10.2 HDX in a Magma 3T and a Thunderbolt display with a MacBook Pro 2.5GHz i7 8GB OSX 10.7.4
Works beautifully -

Did you have to install a "thunderbolt aware" driver?

Are you addressing your Pro Tools cards vix thunderbolt port? or just video cards?
