Default iChat and CoreAudio HD not good friends?

I sometimes get a very annoying looping sound that won't stop when using iChat over the HD 6.7 CoreAudio driver on OS 10.3.4 and 10.3.7. It's like a stuck note when I get a message and it only goes away after I quit iChat. Have anyone else experienced this problem?

That happens to me almost every single time when using the CoreAudio driver. I have seen it on four different systems so I know it must be fairly common.

While the dial tone doesn't cramp my style it sounds like we have a confirmed bug...

Having the same problem with an HD3. It sounds like a really distorted dial tone. It sounds like I'm cranking the phone thru the 1073's.
