did Digi ever offer to have you send the computer to them so that they could witness this?
Yes, in fact they did; they offered to send me a machine to use in the meantime, but I think that with all of our Macs doing the same basic thing, it would seem by now that Digi could have gotten their hands on a machine to test that is more local to them without me sending mine from Florida. I want this problem gone as much as anybody, but I'm not comfortable with doing that swap-in/out. Except for the boot problem, my system is pretty stable.

I just wanted to let everyone know that we are still on this and may have a solution imminent.

I'll let you know as soon as the next round of testing is complete and we have some solid results.

There are very few systems with the 2.66 that do not present this problem.

strangely, my 2 new quad 2.66 systems boot fine. i'm having other oddities, but
so far (knocking on wood) booting w/ HD3, OS 10.4.10, PT 7.4cs2 is fine.

My 2.66 can go a week or more with no issue then out of the blue 2 or 3 hard restarts are required to start the system. I'll clear everything... PRAM prefs databases etc. then maybe it will work normally, maybe not. Then longest I have gone with no boot issue is ~ 3 weeks.

Just to add to the bunch.....
Leopard also shows the same issue when all 3 cards are installed.

So Has there been any updates or fixes to this problem. I have a 3.0 quad and I wanted to go to HD 1 on my home system so I can get more work done. Any one shed any light on any progress or has there been a workaround addressed? I am going to be running HD 1 with PT 7.4, a side note, why isn't 48 voices 1 DSP, or 96 voices @ 44/48k supported? Can digitech chime in?

Thanks!

Digi posted a response a few days ago. They may have a possible fix they said, so keep your eyes on the CS updates I guess (and your fingers crossed).

I'm glad Digi sounds like they're making progress on this. I have to upgrade my computer soon too. This problem isn't limited to Mac Pro's. My Dual 2.0 G5 does this almost daily. Hopefully the fix will work with the just announced Mac's as well.
